The tour commenced on Saturday 23 July and finished in South Africa, some 5 weeks later. It was routed westwards through Canada, New Zealand, Australia, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, and South Africa. This report chronicles and observes on the principal events which occurred.

Institution recognition Our members will have appreciated the growing preoccupation with ‘things European’ over the last few months, as reflected in the content of The Structural Engineer.
